Wash Your Dog Frequently
Quality shampoos and conditioners developed for dogs can be used frequently without drying the coat or skin. When using the correct dog shampoos, bathing your dog weekly is not excessive if carried out properly and with professional advice. Never use human shampoos, detergent based shampoos, aggressive shampoos or soaps on your dog. Do not continue to use medicated products such as Malaseb as the regular shampoo, only use to treat the specific skin problem when apparent. Remember a clean dog is a happy dog who will receive more love and attention.
No Mess, No Stress
No cold water hose in the backyard, nor will your bathroom need cleaning after using our services. Dogoverboard is specifically designed to enable dogs to be washed correctly and to also allow dog lovers to easily wash their own dog without any of the hassles such as mess, dirty water, wet hair and an uncontrolled pet, thus removing the stress on the dog and the owner. There are 8 baths and 6 separate high velocity blow-drying booths available for use by dog lovers and our Newcastle canine carers. The dogs coat can be completely dried thus preventing malodour, hot spots and excessive hair loss.
Cleanliness is Important
Dogoverboard do not use any recycled tanks or used dirty water as common in hydro baths, coin-operated baths and mobile dog washers. We use heated fresh water kept at the prescribed correct luke warm temperature which soothes your dog. The wash and rinse water immediately drains away from the dog so it is not standing in any dirty water. This ensures that there are no cross infections of skin complaints, fleas, flea dirt and other bacteria from previous dogs.
Any Size Dog
Dogoverboard's baths will safely hold any size dog from the smallest Chihuahua to the largest St Bernard. We specialise in washing and blowing out the coats of large doubled coated dogs such as Malamutes, Huskies, Samoyeds, Newfoundlands or long-haired German Shepherds.
Professional Advice
Our experienced staff are trained to provide professional advice on the correct methods of bathing and drying, selection of suitable shampoos and conditioners for the breed type and dog coat and the correct tools and products for coat maintenance.
As an example it is very important to ensure that incorrect bathing techniques or use of unsuitable shampoos and rinses, do not interfere with long-term flea and tick control products such as Frontline and Advantix. Dogoverboard understands how to wash dogs without interfering with the effectiveness of these long-term topical flea treatments and we are happy to advise owners.

Professional Dog Wash
Our trained staff can professionally wash your dog using our special soap free shampoo or we can use client-supplied dog shampoos. We recommend a complete blow-dry for your dog after the professional wash. Improper bathing and drying by unskilled bathers can cause matting of the coat, skin complaints, poor coat condition, hot spots or fungal infections, resulting in costly trips to a veterinarian. A professionally washed dog should feel, look and smell clean all over no matter how dirty the dog was to start with. Dogoverboard specialise in correctly washing and drying all dog breeds, no matter how big or small. We love dogs!
Fresh Warm Water And Self Draining
Recycled dirty wash or rinse water is not used at Dogoverboard. Fresh warm water automatically heated to a preset prescribed temperature is used in all baths. The baths are self-draining which allows the dirty wash and rinse water to drain away from your dog. This allows all shampoo residue to be removed from the dog which minimises the possibility of itching, dandruff, malodour or allergic reactions and the transfer of fleas, bacteria and microorganisms.
Hand Blow Drying
Dogoverboard prefers to completely hand blow-dry dogs after a professional wash. Cage or forced drying is not used. These procedures can be cruel and result in death. Professional hand drying identifies problems such as fleas, ticks, skin complaints, lumps and bumps. Unlike cage drying, hand drying does not stress the dog or cause body over-heating and burning. For those owners and dogs that do not require a full dry, we offer our express bath where we towel dry after the bath.
Add On Services
Our trained staffs can also provide add-on services such as nail clipping, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, ear syringing and plucking, face or pad trimming, teeth brushing and cleaning, medicated washes such as Malaseb, coat thinning, brushing, doubled coat blow-outs or the FURminator® shed-less treatment.

DIY Dog Wash
Now washing your dog can be fun and not a chore. Dogoverboard is specifically designed to allow dog lovers to wash their own dog without any of the hassles such as mess, dirty water, wet hair and an uncontrolled pet, thus removing the stress on the dog and the owner. Dog lovers can bond with their dog by washing their dog themselves. Your pet will feel less stressed when you spend quality time bathing your dog.
Our Newcastle bathing and drying facilities are not coin-operated or time based. These time based baths cause short cuts and puts the dog at a higher risk of skin problems. Bring your family as the bathing areas and drying booths have plenty of room for everybody.

No more lifting, bending or bad backs. The baths are also ideal for older or less active dogs that have difficulty jumping or walking up ramps. High Velocity Dryers
Dogs should always be dried after bathing. Drip-drying or allowing the coat to dry over many hours can lead to bacterial growth under the coat and assist the development of certain skin complaints. Dogoverboard has 7 drying booths big enough for the largest dog.
One-Stop-Wash - Just Bring the Dog
We have made it easy to wash your dog. You don't need an appointment, just drop in with your dog anytime 7 days a week. Last DIY wash and dry is 30 minutes before closing time. We can supply quality soap-free shampoos, conditioners, towels, brushes and aprons or you can bring your own. Remember never use human shampoos. We also do not allow the use of flea make-up washes, such as gamma wash etc. If your dog has fleas, we recommend a Capstar tablet followed by a wash using a normal dog shampoo. If in doubt, we can make recommendations based on your dog's skin and coat type and advise you on the various flea treatment options.
Add-On Services
Our staffs are able to provide specialised services such as nail clipping, ear cleaning and plucking, anal gland expression, face, feet or pad trimming, teeth brushing and cleaning. Medicated washes such as Malaseb, hand stripping and coat thinning are also available. We can provide solutions for ear and beard staining. You can get the right products for your dog and receive professional caring advice on hygiene, parasite controls, nutrition and grooming.

Regular Client's Own Shampoo
Some clients prefer a special shampoo or conditioner for their doggy friend. Not only can we use your special shampoo but we can keep your shampoo on our premises, identified and put in our cupboard for use every time your dog comes for a bath or groom. Dogoverboard only uses environmentally friendly products for all services. We will not use products that we believe are harmful to dogs, humans or the environment.
